How to Volunteer

We make volunteering easy. Whether you are 18 or 80, have children or do not have children, married or single, female or male, there is a volunteer opportunity that is right for you that fits your schedule. Volunteering for the Girl Scouts requires no previous experience. Support and training is provided when necessary and our council Web site is available 24/7. Whether you volunteer for one hour or one year, you’ll have fun and feel great knowing that you have helped build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

Testimonials

About two years ago, I went to a meeting at Chestnut Elementary to sign my daughter up for Brownies. I met the most encouraging and wonderful woman. … She was a single mom, like myself, and was there to encourage new troop formation.

I could not manage to be a troop leader at the time and was not able to coordinate my schedule to have my daughter in Brownies. She called on a consistent basis and showed me a door that I thought I could never walk through. What a seed she planted! The next year we formed a troop out of my daughter's school and I became a co-leader.

I know everyone feels the tremendous joy when helping others. Watching my daughter and the other girls grow has made me recognize that one person can make a difference. You can change the world with only one person. I look at the lives I am touching, as someone once did for me. Thank you so much for the opportunity and the open door.
