Volunteers deserve to be honored

If someone you know has done something extraordinary in your service unit or geographic area, why not nominate her or him for an award? Through their service, volunteers just like you have dedicated numerous hours of hard work for Girl Scouts. These volunteers have given not only their time, but also their talents and hearts, to building girls of courage, confidence and character.

There are new opportunities to recognize volunteers. In addition to the awards you see below, here are four awards and their criteria to add to the roster:

• Super Star - For outstanding volunteers who perform beyond expectations to make a difference in the lives of girls.

• Special Supporter - To honor individuals, groups of organizations such as schools, churches or businesses outside of Girl Scouting who have supported Girl Scouting.

• Extra Mile - To recognize non-member individuals who have gone above and beyond and have exemplified Girl Scout values.

• D.O.G.S. (Dads of Girl Scouting) - For registered male volunteers who provide outstanding service to their service unit or troop.
