Ready, Set, Go Camping!
Discover the fun of Camp Meriwether for the day and learn important skills that every girl should know before their first camping trip. We will play bandana games, learn about knots, and even show you how to dress and pack. Girls who participate in this activity will earn their Ready, Set, Go Camping Try-It. Participants will need to bring a bandana and a sack lunch for Saturday.

Wave the Flag
The United States of America is a very special country. For hundreds of years, people from other countries have come to visit, live, or work here. Girl Scout Brownies will discover fun flag facts, connect with local history with the exciting story of the Great Locomotive Chase that started in Kennesaw, and take action to express their patriotism through a create your own flag craft project. (Workshop activities are for Girl Scouts only, families may tour the museum separately.)

Puppets, Dolls, and Plays
People have made their own puppets and dolls for centuries. At this workshop, the girls will make their own crafts to play with and take home. The girls will discover how to care for and preserve the environment when they create dolls from recycled products. They will create finger puppets, yarn dolls, and much more.

Book Arts: Papermaking and Bookbinding
Discover the Robert C. Williams Paper Museum at Georgia Tech to learn the skills of papermaking and bookbinding! Connect with others to participate in the guided tour of the museum to learn about the history and see the tools used to make paper, and then try your own hand at making paper. Take action as you create and bind your own journal to take home. We will provide the Hobby Try-It to girls upon completion of this workshop.

Science Wonders

Discover the exciting new Tellus Science Museum and take part in hands-on activities for a science sampler of fun! Explore science through bubbles, magnets, static electricity and making recycled paper. Girls become scientists as they earn the Science Wonders Try-It. Discover 1: Girls develop a strong sense of self; Connect 1: Girls develop healthy relationships.

Fairy Magic Overnight
NEW
Join us at Camp Meriwether to discover our wonderful and magical forest friends. Catch a glimpse of Sparkles, our magical fairy mascot, as you make fairy wands, wings, lanterns, crowns and go on a fairy hike. Every girl will also have the chance to visit the barn and ride a pony and a fairy's special friend. Participants will need to bring a sack lunch for Saturday, but dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday will be provided in the dining hall.

Brownie Quest for Giant Panda Pals
Come along as we go on a quest to discover Mei Lan, one of Zoo Atlanta's newest and coolest residents. Through the use of biofacts and arts and crafts, girls will learn all about Pandas at this unique overnight program. Discover behind-the-scenes at the Zoo and connect with animals up close during animal encounters. Girls will sleep in safe, climate controlled facilities, receive a late evening snack and a continental breakfast, take a train ride and receive a guided tour of the zoo. Each girl will receive a participation patch. A sleeping mat will be provided. You are free to stay and enjoy Zoo Atlanta all day Sunday. All troops must adhere to the Overnight Trip & Travel Guidelines as listed in Volunteer Essentials.

Sleep Under the Sea
Discover what happens at night in the world's largest aquarium! Connect with other Girl Scouts and explore the Aquarium after hours and learn about many exciting animals, including sharks, stingrays, whales and more! Your adventure takes you around the aquarium to encounter new discoveries which will help you earn the Georgia Aquarium Brownie patch. You will go where the aquarists go and participate in the fun activities offered by the aquarium staff. And just when your eyes can't stay open any longer, you will bed down alongside your new best saltwater friends and dream about all the magnificent creatures found in the Georgia Aquarium.

Jump into Juniors - Visual Arts
The Booth Western Art Museum invites Brownie Girl Scouts to participate in a program designed to earn the Visual Arts badge. The program begins with a tour of the Booth Museum's collection and trip to Sagebrush Ranch, followed by sessions on color, shading, shapes, and perspective. The program features ample hands-on opportunities for the budding artist to create their own works of art. At the same time, adult leaders can participate in the Junior Guiding the Journey Training. Just bring one additional adult to stay with the girls! *Bring a sack lunch and drink.

Acting Like Animals
Let's have fun as we discover how to act like animals, the good kind, of course! The Cherokees had many stories involving animals. You will learn basic acting skills and then act out one of the stories. You will also make a mask to take home. You will be able to put on a puppet show on our puppet stage and then hear how to make puppets at home.

When you study difficult times in our history, you find many examples of people using creative outlets to help them cope. Try-it Workshop at Stately Oaks Plantation
Discover historical Jonesboro and attend the "Tending the Homefront" tour and earn your Listening to the Past try-it. The tour consists of many first hand accounts of heroic people left behind at Stately Oaks during the civil war. Cost includes admission, tour, activities, and Try-it. Please bring sack lunch for picnic.

Brownie Try-Its Day
Spend the day at camp as you discover the outdoors, taking action to earn some of the requirements from Earth and Sky, Eco-explorer, Outdoor Adventure and/or Water Everywhere Try- Its. We provide all the supplies for the day and a snack. Please bring a picnic blanket and a sack lunch. Troops are responsible for the purchase of their own try-its.

Join other Brownie Sprites and discover a weekend full of activities such as hiking, games, arts and crafts, canoeing, campfires with s'mores and more! This is a great program for troops who want to camp for the first time or more experienced troops who just want to get out and have fun, and every girl will visit the stables and take a pony ride.
