How to register for troop/group camping

Due to the large demand for troop/group camping, we process applications by mail email or fax according to postmark date/date received for email and fax. For April 1 and Dec. 1 postmark dates, received dates, the applications are placed in a box and drawn randomly for processing.

Follow these guidelines for registration success:

  1. Carefully complete the Application for Troop/Group Camping.
  2. You will need to know the name of your adult-trained troop camper and first aider who will be going on the camping trip.
  3. Read the appropriate sections of Council Guide for Camping, Safety-Wise, and Outdoor Education in Girl Scouting.
  4. Go over health, safety and security guidelines with the girls and other adult campers.
  5. Don't forget to sign the application and print if mailing or type your name if submitting by email and print.
  6. Do not send money with your application unless specifically instructed to do so.
  7. Your confirmation packet will include a copy of the computer record, a payment coupon, inspection checklist, Council Camp Use Form, a letter about camp and a map to camp.
  8. If you must cancel your reservation, please notify the council as soon as possible so a troop may be placed from the waiting list. If you find you must cancel during the week you are scheduled to camp, call the ranger directly. CAMPS DO NOT CLOSE AND MONEY IS NOT REFUNDED BECAUSE OF RAIN. Include rainy day activities in your planning! In the event of severe weather, leaders should evaluate the driving conditions and determine whether they should wait until the next day to travel. The council will notify the leader of record if the camp closes for any reason – a full refund will be issued under these circumstances.
  9. Mail the application to the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, 1577 Northeast Expressway, Atlanta, GA 30329 until Dec 18, 2009 after Dec. 18 mail all applications to 5601 North Allen Road; Mableton, GA  30126.

Refund policy

Some medical emergencies or certain other conditions might affect the terms of the refund policy. In such cases, the council Property & Risk Manager will determine what, if any, terms will be adjusted.
